Hi everyone.
Welcome to Fixing History. This post will serve as a sort of statement of purpose and general overview of the blog. With that out of the way, let's begin!


Statement of Purpose


The purpose of this blog is as follows:
1. To debunk historical misinformation
2. To improve historical literacy
3. To make history more accessible to the common person
4. Help protect the common person against fringe and baseless historical mis/disinformation



About this Blog


I got the idea for this blog from the Holocaust Controversies Blog (you can check them out here). I wanted to make something similar, though I obviously did not want to totally copy what they had done over there. As such, I decided to expand the scope to cover all (or at least most) of history, including things that aren't really history (such as pre-history). I've also decided to add an educational aspect to this beyond merely debunking falsehoods. Hopefully I can distinguish this blog enough from the HC blog that I can really call this my own creation.

 There's this meme floating around Holocaust Denier Circles lately, that the Americans tortured German defendants at Nuremberg, and that an investigation found "Out of 139 German witnesses who testified that the Holocaust had occurred, the British Medical Officer recorded that 137 had 'damage to their testicles that is beyond repair.'" If this were true, and that's a big "if," it would probably invalidate at least the various testimonies given at Nuremberg. But is it true? Let's find out.
