ISCOT 399

This is an intercept made by the UK Foreign Office which originated with a COMINTERN group somewhere in Poland (presumably). It is a document pertaining to the gassing of Hungarian Jews in Auschwitz-Birkenau in mid-1944

Here is a transcript below (source: The National Archives, Kew, HW 17/56):

About the Document

This document is an English translation of an intercept from the British Foreign Office in 1944. This report originated with a COMINTERN (Communist International) group. The ISCOT reports were communications within the COMINTERN organization and linked Moscow with the various outposts across Europe. British interception of these messages began in 1943. This document specifically pertains to the gassing of Hungarian Jews in mid-1944. It helps offer insight into how much the USSR and various communist groups knew about this (albeit not much insight, given that most of the intercept was corrupted). In any case, this document is one of the many intercepts that helps to debunk the Holocaust Denier notion that there were no Holocaust-related intercepts in the Second World War.

Until next time!
